AirMon, a product of Aerospec, was first incubated within the Laboratory of Atmospheric Processes and their Impacts. It began as an idea envisioned by Nikunj Dudani at the very start of his PhD journey, where he sought to bridge advanced atmospheric research with real-world monitoring needs. Over time, that initial concept evolved from a lab-based project into a robust, field-ready solution, ultimately leading to the establishment of the startup AeroSPEC (with the initial support of Swiss and private investor funds) and growing into an independent, thriving company.
Here is a short video on how it all happened, and the impact the AirMON already had on the research of LAPI and the promise for the community as a whole. You will also see scenes from the celebrations of the launch of the first instrument in December 2025 at AirMON as well as its use in the first field deployment of the instrument at the National Observatory of Athens, Greece (check the scenes by the Acropolis!) and during the CleanCloud PIANO@Patras experiments in Greece.
Good luck AeroSPEC and AirMON!
